"Secretary Geithner has indicated that he will stay on through inauguration," said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney Friday. "He will obviously be a key participant in the negotiations around the so-called fiscal cliff issues, and the president very much appreciates that."
His departure date remains unclear. Geithner previously announced that he will not stay for a second Obama Administration.
