Draft Judge Napolitano For President In 2016 Committee Launched

Next week, Revolution PAC will announce the formation of a committee to draft Judge Andrew Napolitano—the person Ron Paul said he would choose as his running mate—to pick up Ron Paul’s mantle and run as a Republican in 2016 for President, reports Lawrence Hunter at Forbes.

The Committee will launch its Draft-The-Judge Campaign with a nation-wide petition drive gathering signatures to demonstrate a groundswell of support for Judge Napolitano’s candidacy, says Hunter.

Hunter goes on to say:
No one affiliated with Revolution PAC has discussed this matter with the Judge. He has not authorized the effort or even hinted that he might be interested in running for president.
Successful presidential drafts are rare but not unheard of.  The two most successful modern efforts to draft candidates for the presidency both occurred in the 1952 campaign.  There had been an effort within both political parties to draft five-star general Dwight D. Eisenhower to run as a candidate for President as early as 1948 and then again in 1951. Eisenhower studiously ignored both efforts.  He was, however, finally compelled to pay attention after Henry Cabot Lodge entered him in the 1952 New Hampshire Republican primary without the general’s authorization.  Eisenhower won the entire slate of Republican delegates in the New Hampshire primary without even campaigning.  After the votes were in, Eisenhower told a reporter, “Any American who would have that many other Americans pay him that compliment would be proud or he would not be an American.”
Hunter than points to my interview with the Judge, where I asked him about running for president:
...he recently said “probably not” when asked if he would run.  He may say no or try to ignore the effort to draft him, as Eisenhower did.  That will not deter Revolution PAC from continuing with its campaign to draft the Judge until it has generated such popular support for a Napolitano candidacy that the Judge, like the General before him, will feel compelled to answer the people’s call to duty.
A Judge Napolitano-Tom Woods ticket or a Judge Napolitano-Walter Block ticket would advance the libertarian cause by leaps and bounds. Let's hope it happens.

  3. I love Napalitano, Woods, and Block, but these guys should not waste their time on such nonsense.

  4. Napolitano/Schiff would be my ticket. It will never happen but one can dream.

  5. I thought we were not going to vote anymore ?
Time to stop wasting time on this stuff.

  6. I hasten to think what this country will be like in four years. It will certainly take more than the Judge to right this sinking ship. The entire swamp of D.C. needs to be drained.

    1. The country as we know it will certainly have changed dramatically by 2016...the question in my mind is whether DC will be able to hold it together under the predicted "economic event" Ron Paul thought would happen during this term.

There might not even be a national election by then.(not that I think politics is the way to change anything)

    2. Agreed. If (and at this point, it's a BIG if) DC still matters to the states in 2016 then The Judge is a natural choice.

  7. I think the Judge should accept this -- not so much for the politics, but to keep the movement energized. I think the Judge would keep the movement energized almost as much as Ron Paul has.

I think people need that element of hope -- no matter how small the reality of that hope really is -- to keep energized to participate in the movement. Ron Paul provided that hope. I think the Judge could as well.

    I totally agree with you.

  9. The Judge has stage presence. It is what Ron Paul lacks. If he would do it, he could win against anyone. He has the wit, the speaking ability, the intelligence, the stamina, the education, and the demeanor. Tom's time will come. Napolitano's time is now.

The fact that he doesn't want it makes him all the more right for it.

  10. "Advance the libertarian cause" through education and de-programming the masses, through information media and the Internet, but certainly not with politics. The political process is a complete waste of time.

The people need to take back their freedom, and nullification and secession would be much more effective.

  12. With respect to: "I thought we were not going to vote anymore? Time to stop wasting time on this stuff."

I think this is valid, but not a waste of time when it comes to education of the people. Ron Paul has done more to educate the population, especially the future generation, of the principles of liberty than any other person in history, other than maybe going back to Jefferson.

Napolitano is cut from the same cloth. He has the charisma and background needed to reach out to the masses and make a point that will resonate. Getting him in there talking about what matters is a win for liberty and chips away at the state irrespective of the political outcome. He can win the hearts and minds, and that is the overall goal.

  13. The Judge would be wonderful, but it is hard to imagine him doing it. I think he would prefer staying in the media. Also, though I think he is more of a hardcore libertarian than Rand Paul, I think even if he were interested in running he would defer to Rand if Rand decides to run.

  14. I was just talking to a close friend about this very topic. It would be a worthwhile endeavor to launch draftjudgenap.com or draftthejudge.com to shift the rEVOLution into another gear.

As someone above commented, voting/elections have been demonstrated to be ineffective means for advancing liberty, and I agree.

It would, however, be a campaign worth supporting/pursuing if only to have one non-statist on the debate stage injecting heavy doses of sanity and reason to what would otherwise be a parade of militarism and welfarism between the demoblicans and repulicrats.

Judge Nap is just as principled as the good Doctor, and is an even more persuasive/intelligent orator than even Ron. Count me in.

  15. I agree with most commenters, but block is to extreme for most voters and would be taken to task to easily in the court of public opinion on his staunch libertarianism, which I agree with 99% of. But Block is no politician, where I think a Nap/Schiff, or Nap/Woods or even Nap/Ventura could have a broad appeal, because Schiff and Ventura are more populist libertarians, not as staunch as a dr Block. This would be a terrific start however, I'd move South from igloo up in here in Canada if any of those tickets were elected lol

  18. Judge Napolitano is a great guy. I could easily see him getting over 1 percent of the vote if he ran as a Libertarian.

  19. Judge Napolitano would be a very able candidate for the reasons mentioned. It should be noted the Constitution, which Judge Napolitano (as does Ron Paul) constantly cites was a Federalist, post Articles of Confederation power grab concoction pushed by the likes of Hamilton, Madison, Jay to create an executive, judicial presence, and the power to tax. Further, Democracy on a large-scale population basis is a failure. How about let's first split the country into a handful of new ones and he can run for one of them? Alternatively, let's do away with Democracy, the Constitution and come up with a better system of limited governance with true checks and balances.

In any case, Judge Napolitano is head and shoulders above most serving politicians treading our Terra Firma.

I look forward to reading a copy of the good Judge's book "Theodore and Woodrow: How Two American Presidents Destroyed Constitutional Freedoms" over the holidays.

  20. Robert,

You fool. Don’t you know that Judge Nap has said kind things about Rand Paul and wants him to run in 2016? As such, Judge Nap is a complete sell-out and a statist.

You fool. Don’t you know that Ron Paul ran for public office under the construct of the Constitution? As such, Ron Paul and all his family (including Rand Paul) are complete sell-outs and statists.

  22. Anonymous 5:14 has it right on the money. The Judge's campaign would be dynamite- what better way to spread the liberty message far and wide? While the election itself is irrelevant, the Judge could rock the boat just like Ron.

  23. It would probably make sense to run for a congressional or senate seat in 2014 - it would give mainstream voters a sense of legitimacy towards his candidacy, although a lot of people know the judge is heads above the rest

    Yes to the Judge

  25. Beside the fact that Judge Napolitano is an amazing speaker. He holds the US constitution and the amendments in high regard as they were written. He has little use for the shredded, watered down, near nonexistent versions of what we now see. We can only hope that he would accept and do everything he could to reverse the damage that has been done, and to reinstate Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness back to the American people. If you have 36 minutes, find his video on Youtube, The US Constitution for Dummies 2006 Excellent!
