HuffPo chronicles the 100 plus deaths since Sandy Hook, with the implication that guns should somehow be taken away from Americans.

Here are the deaths, I chronicled, today, when governments did take guns away from citizens:

1911 – The Turkish government disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1915 – 1917 the governmnet murdered 1.5 million Armenians.

1929 – The Russian government disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1929 – 1953 they murdered 20 million Russians.

1935 – The Chinese government disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1948 – 1952 they murdered 20 million Chinese.

1938 – The German government disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1939 – 1945 they murdered 6 million Jews.

1956 – The Cambodian government disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1975 – 1977 they murdered 1 million Educated people.

1964 – The Guatemalan government disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1964 – 1981 they murdered 100,000 Mayan Indians.

1970 – The Ugandan government disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1971 – 1979 they murdered 300,000 Christians

HuffPo chronicled deaths: aprox. 100

EPJ chronicled deaths when governments took away guns from citizens: 48.9 million.

  1. Good point and their list contains no analysis of deaths where government policies were a major factor, eg, the progressives' drug war.

  2. The 100 approximation is senseless. I'm sure at least 75% of the shootings were due to handguns. I'm 100% sure HuffPo won't support a ban on handguns. With this being said, the chronicling of death holds no water.

  3. To make the typical HuffPo readers understand, you need to write out 1 million as 1,000,000, preferably on separate lines, like this:

    100
    48,900,000

    1. No, dude, that is using too much mathematics.

You should do it like the following. Use '*' to represent 100.

      Then you have

      *

      **************************************************
      **************************************************
      **************************************************
      **************************************************
      **************************************************
      **************************************************
      ...
      **************************************************

(sorry, I ran out of patience)

  4. RW you are forgetting a very important event.
The genocide of Tutsi peoples by Hutu peoples.
This took place mostly with machetes because the people were unarmed.
    Ask Huff-Po to explain Rwanda.

  5. Wow Wenzel I haven't seen someone get owned this badly since Piers Morgan lol. Really important facts that will help strengthen pro choice arguments regarding gun ownership.

  6. I took a look at some of the comments to the story over on the Huffington Post. I looks like a lot of people aren't buying their garbage. Americans want to keep their guns. The MSM seems to only be talking to themselves. It is a good thing that less and less people are following the MSM everyday. I do have hope that more and more people are getting sick and tired of the status quo and are seeking out the truth.

  8. Slight correction... 6 million Jews died at the hands of the Germans... 12 million or more total people were killed by the Germans in the Holocaust.

Add in the extra 6 million and you get 54.9 million people killed by governments after disarming the people.

  9. The Nazis murdered ~12 million people: ~6 million Jews and ~6 million mental/physical/social 'undesirables'. And, I think you cut Mao some slack...several more 10s of millions starved to death during the Great Leap Forward. Hmmm! Forward. Where have I heard that slogan recently.

  10. Good point. The Huffington Post, Piers Morgan, and the rest of the leftwing anti-gun rights people are just hyping up any convenient incident they can find, and they ignore the fact that people can find alternative means to do violence. Meanwhile, guns daily foil and deter huge amounts of crime, violence, and yes, tyranny from the state. And even with these (rare) mass shootings, the trend over the last 20 yrs is something like -50%.

  11. The other day they posted an article saying in re: gun control- "The time for debate is over".

They had better pray to whatever gods they believe in that we haven't come to the end of talking about it, because that leaves something else, and... who has all the guns?

  12. And how many people were saved because the crime was never committed due to a fire arm brandished by the intended victim?

Brady Center's own numbers estimate that 108,000 crimes are thwarted annually due to private ownership of guns. Dr. Gary Kleck in a 1993 study at FLorida State University, estimates the number at 2.5 million. Reality is likely somewhere in the middle.

Read this and pass it to people on both sides of the debate.

    1. Well, it's simple then:

      HufPo is pro-genocide.

In fact, the whole lot of anti-gun People are pro-genocide.

They're pretty sickening individuals. I see why they get along so well with the pro-war killers side now, too.

No wonder they're not phased in the least by facts such as, "108,000 crimes are thwarted annually due to private ownership of guns" they love that kind of stuff and want it to continue.

That guy on TV which said anti-gunners are friends to criminals and killers, he's got something there.

  13. Progressives love guns so long as they are in the hands of government goons carrying out their loony plans for fixing the ills of society. Ironic, but progressivism is totally built on the threat of force and violence that is backed up by guns.

  14. Those of us in the pro gun movement remember very clearly that the same types pushing for gun bans now back in the 90s and early 2000s went crazy predicting that crime and murder would explode as CCW laws were passed in most of the states. They also predicted the same would happen when the AWB lapsed in 04. The Sarah Brady types and the Wa Post, Ny Times, etc were all completely and horribly wrong with their predictions as the murder rate has halved in the last two decades.

Just imagine if the drug war ended how small the murder would be?

Lastly, as Will Grigg and others have pointed out, how hard is it to take the Obamapost and cheerleaders for obama's foreign policy that dominate the media and the Dem party with their outrage over violence when Obama does the same thing every day to muslim children in the mid east via drone strikes?
