The Daily Mail reports:
It's considered to be the world's most sophisticated superfighter jet, but Britain's new £150million combat aircraft has been banned from flying in bad weather for fears it could explode.
Engineers working on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter have found the jet's fuel tank could explode if hit by lightning.

Minor details.
ReplyDeletei was trying to remember where i read something about this a couple of days ago, they were try to cut weight from the plane, perhaps saving something like 14 or so pounds in weight.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the headline, the Lockheed-Martin designed and made F-35 is definitely a US fighter jet. The UK contribution is minor.
ReplyDeleteThis is an American aircraft, not British.
ReplyDeleteF-35 JSF (Joint Strike Fighter)
ReplyDeleteNow now, this is a major step forward in aircraft design. The Dreamliner bursts into flame just sitting on the runway...
ReplyDeleteIf you ever read anything at thehilll.com, you would see that it is basically a giant Lockheed-Martin advertisement for this plane.
ReplyDeleteI guess we should just stick with the drones, ho hum
ReplyDeleteThe fact that there are Americans hearing about this from outside the country tells you everything you need to know about mainstream medias links to the MICC. You would think that the most expensive weapons program in history would deserve a bit more journalistic oversight.
ReplyDeleteThe F22 sucks as well and STILL doesn't work correctly 20 years after winning the contract!
