The Washington Examiner reports:
A new video game featuring a black alien female superhero delivered to Earth to fight global warming is about to hit the market thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Obama administration.
The National Endowment for the Arts is funding the Spelman College of Atlanta, Ga.'s multi-episode game called "HERadventure." In the grant announcement made last year, the NEA said the story "focuses on a young female superhero sent to Earth to save her own planet from devastation because of climate changes caused by social issues impacting women and girls."
The game is set to debut on March 8 on International Women's Day.
The college's digital newspaper described the project this way: "What would happen if the societal issues affecting women put other planets at risk? Well, of course, HER, a black female superhero, would swoop in with a plan to save the universe. HER is central to HERadventure, a science fiction-based, multimedia platform project that interweaves virtual worlds, digital and social media to create a gaming and storytelling experience. HERadventure not only entertains but tackles social issues that permeate the daily reality of many women."

This is absolutely retarded.
ReplyDeleteLibertarian video game answer to this propaganda: Assassin's Creed.
ReplyDeleteThe Assassin's Creed series is all about the importance of free will, personal liberty, and tolerance of different types of worldviews and cultures. The enemies of the Assassins are these conspiratorial and authoritarian statists known as the Templars.
Sad thing is this game series is not some secret but actually very popular, yet I'd venture to guess that only an incredibly small percentage of the fans actually get the message that is being sent.
They'll probably have to subsidize some buyers to actually purchase the game, too.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me they'll have kids playing this in public schools.
DeleteYou almost have to try at being this ridiculous and absurd.
ReplyDeleteThen again, the powers that be have a lot of practice at doing just that.
They can't do anything else right so why would anyone think they could create a game that people want to play. The army had that one game a while back and it was horrible.
ReplyDeleteWord Girl which appears on PBS is suprisingly good, but this is absurd.
ReplyDeleteThis just in...
ReplyDeleteThe National Endowment for the Arts has admitted that they have not been en-tire-ly honest about their new female super hero. A spokes person who wishes to remain anonymous has said that a recent internal investigation has revealed that HER, the star of HERadventure is in fact suffering from early onset menopause and thinks it's "too damn hot" everywhere - go figure...
What will HER girl do when she discovers that small winged mini dinosaur fossils exist as far north of the equator as Caswell County North Carolina? Leepin' lizards! Those evil prehistoric people sure created a hot tropical climate. Can't let them do that again! But, hey, send me some warming; I like it. Oh, I guess HER girl isn't interested in real science.
