Lauren Lyster has announced that she is leaving RT for the Daily Ticker at YahooFinance.
Starting next week, you can see me as a co-host of the #DailyTicker @yahoofinance! Very excited to join the team!!
— Lauren Lyster (@LaurenLyster) January 4, 2013
Lauren will be a big success wherever she goes. This is a big win for YahooFinance.
The always mature and insightful MMTer Mike Norman responds:
ReplyDeleteRT Capital Account is cancelled! LOL!!!!
Just heard that RT Capital Account is off the air. LOL!!!! Guess their ratings were just too good, hehe.
I suspect the producer will have more time now to troll around here.
LOL!!!
http://mikenormaneconomics.blogspot.com/2013/01/rt-capital-account-is-cancelled-lol.html
Truly amazing.
Sure I'm going to miss those great looking legs !!
DeleteMIke Norman - you're an pathetic loser.
DeleteIn Mike Norman's "defense",
Deletethe producers of "Capital Accounts" used to insult Mike on a regular basis because as a MMTer, he went against the grain on every show. (he was right by the way)
Having said that, he's wrong to gloat over the show's misfortune.
Robert, are you aware that Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia just introduced the following bills?
ReplyDeleteH.R. 24: To require a full audit of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks by the Comptroller General of the United States, and for other purposes.
H.R. 73: To abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks, to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, and for other purposes.
H.R. 77: To repeal the legal tender laws, to prohibit taxation on certain coins and bullion, and to repeal superfluous sections related to coinage.
Spread the word!
bummer. The FORCE is strong is this one. Hopefully she stays true to what appear to be some strong principles.
ReplyDeletebig loss for rt. lauren is one smart cookie. very entertaining.
I agree. Huge loss for RT, but also maybe for her. If she's lost her principles and thinks she is "moving on to bigger and better things" to collect a bigger paycheck, then have at it hoss. Have fun swimming in the ocean of mediocre media that no one gives a damn about. RT is revolutionary media.
DeleteI don't mind where she goes as long as I can still check out those legs.
ReplyDeleteOk, it might not put the world to rights, but that's what I think.
Lauren Lyster...yummy. Lauren sounds like a sharp cookie, but i highly doubt she will be able to discuss the 'hard' topics...no matter though because end game commences.
DeleteGreat legs etc, but sometimes it's a distraction. Will somebody give her a game show that involves t-shirts and lots of water.
DeleteYahoo will never allow her to expose the real issues like RT. She likely will slide into irrelevance if she doesn't continue to expose the fraud and lies.
ReplyDeleteHopefully RT will keep up the honest reporting
I noticed with Timewarner dropping Al Jazeera and now this, is there a focused attempt to stifle foreign news that is telling the truth. Would not be surprised if they poached her just to shut her up
I agree, I really don't think we will be seeing Lew Rockwell, Mish Shedlock, and other out of the box thinking men on statist Yahoo. I mean just check the bio of the Obamaite CEO.
DeleteI sadly suspect a voice of the opposition has just been silenced. Shades of Judge Nap?
Agreed.. the mega corp Yahoo is paying hush money to Lyster.. the jig is up for the cabal and, like a person
Deletewith leprosy, the diseased economic limb called the fed
will "fall off all by iteslf"! My opinon only.
Can't go wrong with those legs!
ReplyDeleteNooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Any word on who will replace her?
ReplyDeleteThey probably won't let her do anything as radical as Capital Account though. She got the best guests.
ReplyDeleteIt might lend some credibility to Yahoo ( hiring Lauren )if they actually cared about the truth rather than spin. I'm sad to say that I think this will result in her pimping Kardashian-esque issues of non interest or towing the TPTB "company" line. Sad.... we'll see. Girl's gotta eat I suppose.
ReplyDeleteMassive loss for RT losing Lauren who is superb at laconically explaining complex issues
ReplyDeleteand covering topics not normally touched by the mostly bland mainstream media. For my money Lauren and co host Demetri on Capital Account were more accessible, in-depth and enlightening then any other show on cable news TV over the past 12 months. Major coup for Yahoo hiring Mrs Lyster who comes across as the zenith of brains, beauty and congeniality. Many thanks for their great show all the way from Ireland
Dimitri's Tweets commenting on the cesspool that is DC are always amusing. That Lauren is going to New York makes me believe she probaly just couldn't handle it there anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not happy about this. While I don't blame LL at all for taking the money (it's her life/career after all), I highly doubt Yahoo is going to do the truly relevant stories that RT did. RT was around a 30 minute show also so there was a chance to get more in-depth.
ReplyDeleteHopefully RT will replace LL with someone equally as gorgeous and intelligent (2 traits LL has in abundance) though I can't imagine that will be very easy.
I think this is good for Lauren - she must be exhausted after the show she put on every day for how long? I think they were running that show on a shoestring - hopefully she'll get a lot more support at Yahoo, and have a little more time to, you know, stay pretty?
ReplyDeletebammbamm12
Let's hope she doesn't.sell out....
ReplyDeleteLauren Lyster represented fantastic, honest ,financial insight in a financial world that has lost its integrity and honour code.
ReplyDeleteRT made the wrong move in not trying to keep her --- she was the reason i watched RT ; The financial "gremlins" that run the financial world have lost all honour --people don't respect them anymore -- they represent the worst of humanity because self interest and profit is all they concern themselves with.
Lauren---thank for doing what you did--best of luck!!
"><"
ReplyDeleteRT will be fine!
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that this woman's legs have anything to do with anything? That comment was insulting and demeaning to the lady. If she meant to trade on her appearance, she'd be in a beauty contest. If she means to trade on her knowledge and wisdom, I hope she will quickly rise to the top of her chosen profession.
ReplyDeleteSEX SELLS BABY, .........1ST GET VIEWERS ATTENTION, THEN PUT ON GREAT SHOW THAT SHE HAD. RT DIDN'T WANT TO PAT HER MORE.
DeleteAre you kidding? If the gal's legs had nothing to do with it she would not wear a dress to show them. It is part of her "total package". She is selling her sex and her reading skills. You think she would have the job if she looked like the wicked witch of the west?
DeleteShe and Dmitri went as long as they could getting the truth out. I don't blame her for now taking a paycheck, but yes, Yahoo shoves pro-Democrat headlines under my nose every day, and they will stifle her. It's all part of the plan to buy off our brightest media lights. I don't begrudge her at all though; we know she's on our side.
ReplyDeleteLyster is a crackerjack journalist....but I doubt that the mainstream media, Yahoo-finance will allow her to remain so....Yahoo has never been accused of being a independent thinking operation. I'll miss Lyster's fresh and to the point unmasking of the establishment's hide-n-seek economics.
ReplyDeleteyes very sad- I thought capital account with lauren was excellent and went where a lot of others dont go- sorely needed in todays MSM environment. A very classy lady.
ReplyDeleteI will miss her dearly. She was brilliant and pretty lady. RT lost two big anchor women in past several month. Her guest were big mind and I don't think she will invite them to her show. I will follow her on her new show. If it is as good as always, I keep watching. otherwise, I will also move on. I also think Dmitri will come up with a good replacement. lets hope so. Good luck LL.
ReplyDeleteFrom Robert:
ReplyDeleteLauren was too open about exposing the rich leftists. RT will only tolerate criticism of the rich right and center. She was an embarrasment for their socialist party line and had to go. Unfortunately Yahoo Finance will make her invisible and eventually discard her for not following their party line.
Lauren Lyster was the only reason I subscribed to Capital Account. I hope her journey takes her higher in her own Spiritual life and not this corrupt life of Humanoids and Politicians. Wherever she goes I wish her well. I do hope she continues to be a vessel of truth. Best of Luck Lauren. J
ReplyDeleteWas very disappointed to learn Lauren is leaving. I gather it was her choice and I only hope that she can find something as relevant and insightful to host over at Yahoo Finance. But honestly, I am not optimistic. Yahoo has been so far behind the curve for so long, on so many things, I don't see how this could be a big move for Lauren. Would love to see her over on Bloomberg though! Michael, you listening?
ReplyDeleteLauren is about as sharp as a butter knife. She is nothing more than a dumb bimbo in a skirt that is easy on the eye.
ReplyDeleteBrutal truth. You speak it.
DeleteRT has abruptly lost, without much explanation, two great ladies. Kaiser can keep us happy but only a portion of need. Seems US govt. liked to disrupt her incisive comments lately when she put the real facts up for view. Good luck to her but why??? Our country is hurting and she seemed a part of light ahead.
ReplyDeletedoesn't Reggie Middleton live in NYC?....
ReplyDeleteSo what does Reggie Middleton have to do with Laurens new job?
DeleteSad, very sad...
ReplyDeleteTwo of the most brightest (and beautiful) women, Lauren Lyster and Alyona Minkovski, leave RT and a journalistic calling to get the truth out there in Finance and Politics.
We should start a crowdfunding so they, together with Max Keiser and Matt Taibbi, could start there own show.
Lauren, wish you the best of luck.
How does RT lose Adam Kokesh, Lauren Lyster, and Aloyna, while keeping Tom Hartman? I've begun to lose faith in RT.. Abby Martin is its only hope right now.
ReplyDeletean Obamagerm has infected RT. Sadly, Abby wont last, they are cleaning house. I wont be watching RT anymore! TOM HARTMAN ... HE IS THE MR RODGERS OF RT!!!
DeleteYahoo is Pure Garbage. RT needs to get her back.
ReplyDeleteI don’t buy the Yahoo story, "someone or something" is silencing anyone in media who tells the truth. Keiser is Next. RT ... YOU "sold-out" and your replacement programming is pure Garbage! You could have made "more money" and got "more viewers" by exposing and advertising the US governments "payoffs/threats" you received to Axe Lauren Lyster. Yahoo news is GARBAGE, and anything market related, PURE STUPIDITY AND OBAMA BS! I use to be a trader and Yahoo has No rep!
ReplyDeleteBig win for socialist takeover of Yahoo..
ReplyDeleteBad career movement for Lauren - just saw her talking about a dog available for adoption in Indiana shelter! Now she goes from interviewing the hottest thinkers and authorities in the world of economics and finance to the stories about the dogs. Not good for her reputation - may she decide to go back to real news again. As for RT - too bad for these guys, Capital Account was a jewel in their programming, now they have to fill more air space with the constantly repeating self promoting flicks, I'd actually preferred if they had real ads. Or was it an intentional move by RT? After all their general stance is left leaning, socialist and Capital Account was definitely not that. One thing for sure, US needs an alternative media source - RT was filling this void to some extent, too bad if they'll fall victim to internal politics or Putin cutting their budget.
ReplyDeleteLauren Lyster has nice legz... However, she will no longer be able to speak freely as she did with RT...
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste of talent, going to mainstream media.
first was Adam Kokesh, then Alyona Minkovski and now Lauren Lyster.
ReplyDeleteis it the money? not likely, Putin prohibited any cut on RT's budget as from October last year. my guess? they're feeling the pressure to start shooting themselves in the foot, because running a TV network in the land of Uncle Sam doesn't come cheap, after all isn't the media the most crucial battlefield in modern times? in this war of information casualties are to be expected.
i've pointed out three names, who's going been the fourth is anyone's guess.
4th: Abby Martin.
Deletesome shitty US media would get her with money once she has enough fans and after that, RT would be an empty shell filled with incompetent anchors that butcher their news reporting segments like Liz and Megan. yuck.
I have spent about 3 hours trying to find out how to watch on a regular basis her new show on Yahoo with no success. Any help would be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteNo-no. Abby Martin is a very complex woman, and very much tied-up by her ideals. While she might be poached into some niche of the mass media, she will never be a sell-out like Kokesh and Minkovski (I'm still hoping Alyona wises up to how phony HuffPost is, and bails.)
ReplyDeleteLauren is very intelligent, very driven, extremely hard-working. Of all four, I predict Lauren will climb the highest.
