I don't think it is false praise - he just always comes across that way. I was watching foxnews back in 2007 and 2008 when Cavuto used to get really confrontational with Ron Paul and openly laughed and mocked at his "crazy" predictions and statements about our foreign policy and the fed and the pending bubble bursting, and he would speak over him O Reilly style repeatedly.
Then after everything Paul said would happen took place, Cavuto admitted on the air that he had been wrong and Paul was right about the Fed, economics, etc. I think he was amazed at how right Paul was on the bubble bursting and how wrong all the wall street experts he has on his show were - he has made this point before, too. He also repeatedly says he wished he could draw young people like Paul does to watch him bc he would have better ratings than Leno, and that he knows of no one else on the planet who can get college age students excited about monetary policy.
He brings Paul on all of the time and lets him say what he wants, unlike how he treats many of his guests. He has even been saying in recent months that it looks as if Paul was right about foreign policy, as much as he hates to admit it.
I am not a Cavuto fan, but at least unlike almost everyone else on the cable "news" shows, he at least admitted he was wrong about Paul and lets him come on whenever he wants and says whatever he wants.
I hate it when Cavuto "lavishes" false praise on Ron Paul, as in previous interviews. He is such an insincere douchebag.
ReplyDeleteTelevision is not good for much except when it can help wind your brain down with mindless entertainment.
