Cost of Living in Cities Around the World

Tokyo has reclaimed its place as the world's most expensive city, according to the latest cost of living index from, the Economist Intelligence Unit. The Japanese city has ranked first 14 times in the last 20 years, only Zurich , Paris and Oslo have also placed first in this period

  1. Bucharest, Romania is on that list? Probably another money-printing bubble, perhaps fueled by its recent entry into the EU. I remember reading a few years ago about a huge real estate bubble in Kiev, Ukraine, such that basically no Ukrainians, only wealthy foreigners, were able to live in the city proper. I wonder how the whole situation looks today.

  2. Whoops, I read that wrong, Bucharest is cheap. At first glance I thought it was a list of the most expensive cities, but instead it is a sampling.
