Penny Pritzker as Commerce Secretary?

Rhamaland-based billionaire Penny Pritzker, who was the first to back President Obama's initial run for the presidency, has emerged as the leading candidate to become the next commerce secretary, two people familiar with the matter said Wednesday, reports WSJ.

Pritzker, heir to the Hyatt Hotels fortune, is being vetted by the White House, which also has identified backup candidates in case the president chooses not to nominate her, one of these people said, according to WSJ.

In 2011 the Forbes 400 list of America's wealthiest showed her as the 263rd richest person in the U.S., estimated net worth of US $1.7 billion.

She is totally crony and will bet on any horse she thinks can win. Pritzker has contributed to the presidential campaigns and exploratory committees of George W. Bush, Joe Lieberman, Bill Bradley, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain (2000), Al Gore, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton. On July 2, 2008, in Chicago, Pritzker hosted, along with with Warren Buffett and Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett. a $28,500 per plate fundraiser for Obama's campaign.

Pritzker was chairman of a Chicago-area bank that collapsed because of the aggressive subprime home mortgages it made before the crash.
