NYT on Rand Paul's 'Advance' Beyond His Father's Position

Ah yes, a great Father's Day gift to the Paul family from NYT. In a profile on the new positive relationship between Rand Paul and major league establishment crony Mitch McConnell, NYT writes:
In any event, the alliance works both ways. Mr. Paul is determined to vault beyond the libertarian movement he inherited from his father, former Representative Ron Paul. Party insiders say he seeks in Mr. McConnell’s embrace a credibility with establishment Republicans.
And what is a good stab in Ron Paul's back without a quote from Jesse Benton on the new relationship, and Rand's move toward the establishment:
“There is obviously a political element,” said Jesse Benton, who ran Mr. Paul’s 2010 campaign and is running Mr. McConnell’s 2014 re-election race. “Someone considering a promotion to the executive branch, they certainly need to establish their credentials and bona fides that they could be a good representative of the United States on the world stage.”
