A tailor in Hong Kong has produced what he claims to be one of the world’s most expensive suits, reports the South China Morning Post.
Boasting 22-carat gold stitching, with a gold waistcoat and diamond-encrusted gold buttons, it was sold on May 29 for HK$1 million (US$129,000).
It took Apsley Tailors 200 hours to make the suit using the finest wool with the gold carefully woven into the fabric, according to SCMP
SCMP reports:
Director Arshad Mahmood said the million dollar gold suit was the only one of its kind in the world. He speculated that the mystery buyer would probably only wear it twice a year for special occasions. “People are not going to wear it every day,’ he said.
As they say, " There's a sucker born every minute", but it appears we are going for some sort of record here...
ReplyDeleteIf somebody wants to drop that much coin on a suit then more power to them. On the other hand, how the heck would you clean it?
