Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) just announced her intention to run for the US Senate seat in Kentucky, now held by Mitch McConnell (R). The announcement has resulted in the McConnell machine launching multiple sorties in the direction of Grimes.
We have had a bizarre video, already.
The McConnell Machine also has the first slot in Google searches for Grimes. Grimes doesn't even have a web site, so when you do a google search for her name, the first thing that shows up is a link to this goofy site, which is run by the McConnell machine.
And the Mitch machine has even offered a detailed critique of Grimes announcement. If Grimes wasn't planning to get her act together quickly before the critique, Jesse sure lit a cracker under her butt by posting that detailed analysis. Bad move Jesse, let sleeping opponents sleep.
Keep in mind, this McConnell Machine attack is coming for an election that won't take pace until November 2014!
And, also keep in mind, Grimes has the Clintons behind her and they have managed to get this guy into the leadership spot in his race. It is going to be a long and entertaining race.
Buy plenty of popcorn.
Ms. Grimes is a rising star of the Democratic Party in Kentucky, but that is very faint praise right now. Jack Conway can't run for Senate again because of Aqua Buddha. Beshear isn't a supporter of Grimes, and he has no coattails to help anyone get elected (as Mongiardo found out) even if he was. She has had 1 year of experience in office, and her grandmothers won't help her a lot against Mannequin Mitch.
