Rand Paul Sticks the Knife in Jack Hunter

A bit slow on the uptick at the Rand Paul offices. Rand  apparently just now understands that he must look tough in the departure from his office of Jack Hunter. The original spin came from Hunter, himself, that he chose to leave  for the good of Rand Paul.  Sloppy, now Rand indicates he had the knife out.

HuffPo reports (my bold):
Paul confirmed Monday that he and Hunter came to a "mutual decision" on the staffer's resignation, telling reporters that he hopes Hunter's tenure on his congressional staff won't stand in the way of the senator's efforts to broaden the Republican Party's appeal.
"I think everybody occasionally has people that work for them who sometimes have a background that damages what you’re trying to do,” Paul said. “But I think people can judge me on who I am and what I’m trying to do.”
So much for Rand's position on Hunter from just a few days ago. FOX News reported:
It could be a politically perilous affiliation but Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul says he’s standing by longtime aide Jack Hunter following reports about the former radio shock jock's past.
Moira Bagley, Paul’s communication director, told FoxNews.com there is no proof Hunter made any racist remarks and says the Republican senator will continue to support his friend and employee.
"Our office policy is that all employees treat individuals with the equal protection of the law. We find no evidence that this policy has been violated by any employee," Bagley said.

The way it was handled, Rand simply looks like a weak politician, who has bent to the neocon pressures. He should have cut Hunter on day one, not that it is the principled thing to do, but the neocons would have hailed his "decisiveness."  The principled thing, of course, would have been for Rand to tell the neocons to go to hell. But we now see that Rand is power hungry and that principle is far second to maintaining the course toward more power,at all costs..

  1. So who are the Political Control Officers? This is playing out as a typical Potempkin Village. The facade is everything, implying that there IS a "Proper and Moral Model" while the throats are sliced and the announcer says, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...".

No, no. Who is doing this? Rand couldn't do this all on his own, right? RON?!?? We should be able to see this.

    Who?
