How Badly Does Larry Summers Want To Be Fed Chairman?

Summers recently reached out to his arch enemy and key Democrat on the Senate banking committee as the controversy intensified over his potential nomination to lead the Federal Reserve, people familiar with the matter said, reports WaPo.

Summers requested a meeting with. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) when both were in Massachusetts this summer, the people said, according to WaPo.

Warren must have dissed the idea. WaPo says:

    You'd have to be insane to want to be Fed chairman, especially now. We're on the precipice of an epic financial meltdown.
