Israeli forces have joined Kenyan efforts to end a deadly siege by Somali militants at a Nairobi shopping mall, a security source told AFP.
Foreign security officials — from the United States and Britain — were also seen at the complex.
After a day and night of sometimes ferocious gun battles, security sources said police and soldiers had finally "pinned down" the gunmen.

More evidence it is all about blowback for Kenyan troops being sent to Somalia at the urging of the US:
Al-Shabaab says on Twitter that the Kenyan government has renewed calls to negotiate with the militants. "We'll not negotiate with the Kenyan government as long as its forces are invoading our country", the group says
