Father Arrested For Trying to Pick Kids Up From School

A father was arrested for attempting to pick his kids up from school in a startling new example of how the state is increasingly treating children as its own property, writes Infowars.

Making a stand against what he considered a dangerous and illegal new school policy that forces parents to wait in a line of cars outside until children are released at 2:35pm, Jim Howe tried to walk his kids out of South Cumberland Elementary but was arrested and now faces charges of disorderly conduct.

“You don’t need a reason as a parent to go get your children. They are our children,” Howe states in a video of the incident.

The officer who made the arrest, Sheriff Deputy and School Resource Officer Avery Aytes, responds to Howe’s attempt to pick up his own children by stating, “I’m going to call some help down here and we’re going to take you up to the jail right now. I’m not putting up with this today. You’re being childish and it’s uncalled for.”

The school secretary attempts to get Howe to fill in a form to authorize the children to leave the school on their own, which Howe refuses to sign because he is escorting the children out of the school, stating, “They’re walking with me when school is dismissed, per state law."

  1. This sounds so simple, why would the school be protective of your kids when they are your kids ? Sadly Life is not this simple. Some kids are not allowed to go home with their parents because of custody battles and parents who act inappropriately. I have heard of teachers actually having to hide kids from their parents because of this very issue. This really is not a black and white as it may seem.

    1. Nonsense. If the school has no legal proof that you are a danger to your children or have lost custody of them then they have no legal or moral right to behave this way. It's just more obnoxious control freak behavior from our government overlords who assume that they own our children.

Besides, the real danger to children is what happens to them when they are at school, not what the average parent might do after they leave school.

  2. our schools here in FL do this too. very frustrating as the car line goes back for over a mile and blocks all driveways, side streets and even the road into the school itself so if you are not there to pick your kid up over an hour early you are stuck in line for 30-45 minutes. imagine your kid being hurt and needing medical care - the roads are all blocked, and you can't get in at all.

so on top of this to make it "safer" for the many kids that walk home from school in the surrounding neighborhoods they now hold all walkers for an extra 10 minutes (often goes up into 15 or 20 minutes extra)

now on top of this, it was rainy a few weeks ago so like many other parents of walker kids i got to the school parking lot over an hour early so i could actually get in the parking lot and wait to pick up my kids so they did not get drenched in the rain - but still a very common thing here in florida.

this particular storm ends up being a bit more lightening and thunder - this is florida don't forget - a very common thing in the summer months - so all of us parents who came to pick up our kids still waiting, and waiting and waiting... the car pickup line keeps moving and eventually after over an hour is completely gone... but still no walker kids are released.

after a while i start to notice some parents going into the school to the main office and a few kids coming out with parents, but most of us parents in cars wait for our kids like we always do and have done for years - an hour and a half goes by - now i was there over an hour early like many other parent so now we've been waiting for two and a half hours to pick up our kids and we have no idea where they are yet...

eventually more and more parents get out of the cars and all go into the school where we are greeted with message that the school has been "holding" our kids for safety due to the rain.

i was quite mad and asked when this new "policy" went into effect (this school this year received a new liberal leaning principal) i asked for a written copy of the policy or notice that should have been sent home informing the parents of this new policy change - they all stared at me with blank faces.

i said you have now held my kids against their will for over two hours and the extra hour i was there ahead of time made for there hours total - and i as a parent was not notified at all - i asked what if i was at home waiting for my child to arrive? more blank stares.

the only answer they kept repeating was "we are holding your child for their own safety from the rain"

i asked if they knew the definition of kidnapping is - more blank faces - apparently if you are the government then there are no laws that bind you.

  3. They don't see kids as their property per see but like any bureaucracy, in what they see as their sphere their rules trump you. and because they are so interested in covering their fat flabby arses, no common sense can ever displace regulations.. If you don't like it, smile, walk the kid out and fill out the form, never go back, they wouldn't give a shit. Just as long as everyone's safe and the procedures are followed,
    according to the rulebook.

  4. The officer absolutely felt threatened by the stature of that gentlemen. He was nothing but an insignificant authority figure with a gun--a "well my dick is bigger than yours" situation.

He also said several times how childish the man was being, which I thought was ironic given how upset the officer was that the man told on him.

  5. Another good reason to remove your children from government schools.

  6. The state loves to go after kids because the parents inevitably see red and lash out, creating the perfect excuse for further harassment. Don't play this game. Calmly cooperate with their rules, then calmly remove them from the school system. I say this as a parent of two.

    1. as well as the state loves to go after kids because they are conditioned and taught (well most are) to listen and do what the "adult" tells you to do. so they are being conditioned to be held against their will, to sit and shut up and not question "authority" etc.

my daughter tells me stories of how the kids on their bus routinely chant and yell in excitement on the bus ride home when it is "food stamp day" (their words) and yes most all these kids and their parents have iphones and all the other "necessities" as the media and government has brainwashed them that they are entitled to.

we are trying to keep our kids eyes open and to see the "game" that is being played on our society as well as the past couple generations - they are listening, but it is a difficult battle for them to understand and stay on one side when everyone else is riding the gravy train and our kids at times have less then the kids on welfare do.
