Celebrities Promoting Obamacare Propaganda

It makes zero sense for any healthy young person to sign up for health insurance under Obamacare. The prices are completely out of whack with what the young would pay for insurance in a true free market health insurance environment. Obamacare health insurance premiums for the young are all about a distortion of the health insurance system that causes the young, who generally have low starter wages, subsidizing older Americans---which will create incentive for the elderly to not only seek treatment for serious ailments, but also every hangnail.

The Obama administration is recruiting clueless celebrities, who don't understand Obamacare, to promote Obamacare to clueless youth. Obama's needs the youth revenue for the tidal wave of healthcare demands that the elderly are going to demand in the distorted structure. I wonder how many youth will fall for it.

At the state level,  a new publicity effort led by Covered California, one of the largest state-based insurance exchanges, will employ celebrities, athletes, musicians and social media personalities to encourage youth to sign up for healthcare.

A campaign called "Tell A Friend -- Get Covered," the campaign kicked off at a press conference in Los Angeles on Thursday featuring actor Wilmer Valderrama, best known for his role as Fez on the sitcom "That '70s Show," reports CNN.

CNN also notes, "as part of the campaign, singer Adam Levine, fresh off being named People Magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive,' sent a message to his 4.7 million followers on Twitter on Thursday.

" 'California is where I call home. Now you can #GetCovered if you're a resident. So hurry!," Levine wrote."

Other celebrities involved include comedians George Lopez and Marlon Wayans, actresses Tatyana Ali and Fran Drescher, rappers T.I. and Pitbull, and former Olympian and WNBA player Lisa Leslie.

  1. Wilmer Valderrama - yes, you can still catch him when his show reruns on some obscured channel, and most likely, it airs at the time when either you're enjoying your life or at work.

Fran Drescher - for real? Yes, she's totally relates to the young people.

Maybe Levine and Pitbull are the only ones that anybody would consider worthwhile. The others they're done. This is just pathetic.

I say, give me the cure to cancer and abolish the FDA. That would destroy this whole government tax-insurance.

  2. I hope this campaign is successful. No one would be more deserving of Obamacare than those who fall for this. I have a 22-year-old son who is bright enough to laugh this ploy off. Good riddance to the idiots who choose this crappola insurance scam over putting food on the table. Your money is better spent on new gadgets; the new iProduct, video games, Taco Bell, cheap booze.

  3. Maybe they could roll out what's left of the MASH cast for a little PS/2 redux.

  4. Generally speaking, Hollywood is filled with useful idiots/actors waiting to be tools for the statists.
