High suspicions that latest NSA story is actually a big leak -- by the agency! http://t.co/tJWzfyGUKb

If this is a government leak, what does this suggest about Snowden's leaks, which provide no knew information that a careful observer of the news didn't already know?
It is amazing to me that in the last 2-5 years I have moved from being a "conspiracy theorist" to a "careful observer of the news." Yet, I haven't changed at all. And even the latest revelations seem to have failed to awaken most.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, it may also be a blatant attempt at completely discrediting and thereby isolating Snowden.
ReplyDeleteBy making it appear as if he was part of NSA all along, governments may not be so eager to shelter him anymore.
The same sort of pretext as Julian Assange being accused of rape and there thus being a 'logical' reason to extradite him to Sweden.
For obvious reasons, the NSA itself knows very well if it can afford leaking any particular material.
As far as i see, it can still be explained either way. But i'm certainly not going to tar any government whistleblowers with various suspicions without anything in the neighborhood of evidence. That would be exactly what governments would want (that even anti-government types provide no support to whistleblowers), and ironically, it is what the establishment does with "conspiracy theorists" so nobody will believe them.
What if the agency is actually leaking that it is behind Snowden's leak to discredit him?
