SLOG reports:
She's interested in organizing a forum that brings together people concerned about the minimum wage, wage theft, and fair housing—working class issues in Seattle—she added. She is right about these being working class issues, since they would make things more difficult, specifically for the working class.
Someone needs to explain to them that cutting their pay and raising their rents is actually good for them because lower pay means more jobs and higher rent means more apartments.
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't she simply use truthful language in her press release?
DeleteIf she decided to do so she could say that she want's organize a forum to talk about how government will use its power to "force employers to pay more, prevent wage theft, and force property owners to charge less."
Really though, doesn't everyone want to make more money and pay less for housing Jerry? The difference is whether they want to work for more money and/or find cheaper housing on their own or have gov't take from others and give them those things.
How does not raising the minimum wage equate in your mind to a pay cut? After all, you're totally unconcerned about inflation, so we know that won't be taking a bite out of their paychecks.
DeleteMay the people that voted for her get all they deserve and then some. The FSA is on the move!
ReplyDeleteThe problem in a system of 'majority rules', I'd that the people who didn't vote for her "get all they DON'T deserve and then some".
DeleteShe can call it the Committee for Public Safety.
ReplyDelete"Wage theft"? what is that? I am serious, I have no idea what that is. To me, it would be an income tax, but I doubt she means that.
ReplyDeleteIts a problem among illegals mostly where they go to work for an employer and the employer does not pay them for all their time knowing that these people have no legal venue to which they may file a complaint.
DeleteI propose she be called Idiot Sawant.
ReplyDeleteso it is written so it shall be....
