McConnell: Republicans Need To 'Stand Up To' Conservatives 'Giving Conservatism A Bad Name'

Mitch McConnell is starting to shed his disguise and we are getting to see just what kind of establishment elitist Rand Paul is supporting in the Kentucky Senate race.

HuffPo reports:

McConnell (R-Ky.) smacked down a segment of conservatives, calling for establishment Republicans to stand their ground.
In a wide-ranging interview with The Washington Examiner published Friday,McConnell discussed how a cadre of Republicans watched October's government shutdown happen, despite a desire to prevent such an event from going forward.
“There were people who were basically afraid of [conservatives], frankly,” McConnell said. “It’s time for people to stand up to this sort of thing.”[...]McConnell told the Examiner that groups of that nature are "giving conservatism a bad name."

  1. "October's government shutdown"??

What an odd statement. I thought that the HuffPo was an unbaised voice for facts and truth.

  2. One has to have a good name to begin with in order to give it a bad name.

  3. Fortunately, aggressive foreign policy and wars, crony capitalism, big government etc has not given McConnell's brand of "conservatism" a bad name.
We all know that the party of "limited government" and "fiscal responsibility" is supposed to get hysterical by the mere prospect of the shutdown of Leviathan.
