The Most Appropriate Final Send-Off for Nelson Mandela

His communist views, along with his violent past, have all been air-brushed away. We have a new sugar-coated version of Nelson Mandela that is being promoted by MSM. Or as Cornel West puts it a Santa Claus version.

Writes Charles Burris:
Imagine

Lew, rather than the old Stalinist anthem of the USSR sung by Paul Robeson or The Internationale sung by Pete Seeger,[Imagine] is the universally beloved song that was most appropriate for the Nelson Mandela final send-off. Here is what John Lennon himself said about his legendary anthem:
The song ‘Imagine,’ which says, Imagine that there was no more religion, no more country, no more politics is virtually The Communist Manifesto, even though I am not particularly a communist and I do not belong to any movement. You see, ‘Imagine’ was exactly the same message, but sugar-coated. Now ‘Imagine’ is a big hit almost everywhere; anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it is sugar-coated it is accepted. Now I understand what you have to do.
And so apparently do the Nelson Mandela image makers.

  1. Socialism is the biggest scam in history. It's the path back to feudalism in a modern form. The serf owned nothing. He was owned. He lived in a static system devoid of opportunity. He couldn't accumulate capital. The elites use socialism to play the masses.
Life is full of irony. Socialism is the opiate of the masses.

  2. I'm sorry to say this, but Charles Burris is a moron. And whoever re-posted this to Lew's site is a moron as well.

Let's be clear - I'm not a communist. But I cannot tell you what I am because it is beyond your understanding. You all are too stuck in your intellectual and analytically thinking that you cannot even begin to grasp what I will try to tell you. After all, you don't even know who you are. You think you are your body, your thoughts, your feelings. You have never looked within. If you don't even know who you are, then how could I expect you to know anything else?!

I never met John, so I have no way of knowing what he thought Imagine really meant. I just don't think that it was HIM who was writing the song. If you ask any creative person about their stuff, they say (if they are honest about it) that it wasn't them per se who were writing this stuff. It just came from somewhere. You might call it inspiration or what not, but the fact remains that John didn't just sit down and write this song. He was just the receiver. I'm again not saying that any fictional God sent this song - I'm just saying he didn't purposely write it. Just as Paul didn't write Yesterday - he woke up with this song/melody in his head.

So, what Imagine is really all about is the emptiness of ideas. It's essentially a Buddhist view of the world. Or actually the lack of it, as the term emptiness (which in Imagine is ''no heaven, no hell; no countries, no religion, nothing to kill or die for, etc) means the lack of everything (including the idea of itself). You won't get it, but anyway.

Just take some time off from all this nonsense thinking. Listen to some Ram Dass lectures. They are deeply philosophical, so even though you won't get the basic point of it, you will still begin to see things differently.

You might call this ''no countries, no classes'' communist, but that would be an idea. So it's wrong. If you understand the sentence ''what you are looking for is who is looking'' then you may get it. Otherwise you are still stuck in your materialistic way of thinking. You read the words, but still think about living the same way - you want to have this job, that family, those hobbies, that favorite food of yours, etc. But Imagine or Buddhism has nothing to do with those things. The concept of emptiness means giving up all of it. You just see what you want to see with your own clouded eyes.

Google emptiness. See what it really means. I mean, there is no computer. Computer is fundamentally empty of existence. You can search as much as you like, you won't find the thing that you can point and say ''this is computer.'' You fill find that bunch of peaces make up the PC - hard-drive, motherboard, screens and keyboards. But then you discover that you can't even point to a hard-drive. That too is made up of smaller things. You can go on forever, until you find out that nothing exists. Read about these ideas, and maybe you'll stop being so blind.

    Fcuk economics.

    2. How do you know that I won't get the point of a Ram Dass lecture? How is it possible to not get the basic point yet "still begin to see things differently?" Teach me.

  3. How do you know that your Buddhist way of thinking is correct? By what standard do you base your values?
