Bernie Kunkel Leaves Rand Paul's Staff to Join Matt Bevin's Campaign Team Against McConnell

Pure Politics reports:

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul’s Northern Kentucky field representative is leaving to become the Northern Kentucky director of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Matt Bevin’s campaign.

Bernie Kunkel announced his plans Saturday while addressing Republicans at the annual Buffalo Trace Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner in Maysville. And he said he’s wants to help Bevin in the GOP primary, in part, because U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell has been in Washington too long.

“I have to help the best man in the upcoming U.S. Senate race and that man is Matt Bevin. It is time for a change,” Kunkel said. “I beg you to study the voting record of our current senator and decide for yourself.”[...]

“People look at 30 years as enough for Senator Mitch McConnell,” said Kunkel. “I think not a a lot of people are happy with his leadership.”
Jesse Benton, McConnell campaign manager and nephew of Rand Paul.
