4th Financial Services Executive Found Dead; "From Self-Inflicted Nail-Gun Wounds"

For the record.

Pam Martens has already reported on 3 "suicides" of top financial executives and a missing financial reporter (See: A Rash of Deaths and a Missing Reporter – With Ties to Wall Street Investigations).

Now a fourth  financial executive "suicide"  has occurred.

The Denver Post reports:
The founder and CEO of American Title Services in Centennial was found dead in his home this week, the result of self-inflicted wounds from a nail gun, according to the Arapahoe County coroner.

Richard Talley, 57, and the company he founded in 2001 were under investigation by state insurance regulators at the time of his death late Tuesday, an agency spokesman confirmed Thursday.

It was unclear how long the investigation had been ongoing or its primary focus.

A coroner's spokeswoman Thursday said Talley was found in his garage by a family member who called authorities. They said Talley died from seven or eight self-inflicted wounds from a nail gun fired into his torso and head.
Comments Dale Fitzgerald:
7 or 8 wounds from a NAILGUN? Uhhhh, every NAILGUN has a safety that requires pressure to activate. Holding that against your body requires major pressure, and doing it 7 or 8 times...not plausible. The pain would be too much, no matter how bad you wanted to die.

  1. Nail guns don't take much pressure to fire, and I doubt the pain was that great, its a rather small puncture wound. He easily could have fired several into his upper torso and then into his head.

    1. I think you should reply as "Anonymous Idiot". First, most pneumatic nail guns operate in the 100 psi range. Professional models exceed 400 to 500 psi. All are enough to penetrate (or break) bone, let alone soft tissue organs or arteries. Perhaps you've never worked construction and inadvertently driven a nail into your flesh even by a conventional hammer, but the immediate pain is actually WORSE than a bullet. (less heat doesnt' even cauterize the nerve endings being impaled). It would take a trained special ops soldier or martial arts mentalist to withstand the agony of just a couple of these let alone 7 or 8. And the average person (especially rich people who try to avoid pain with luxurious living) find it exponentially more difficult to invite more pain following the last infliction. Perhaps if he was drugged but then his coordination would seem to be so poor it would be hard for the mind to focus to complete the job.

So you want us to believe that a 57 year old epicurean millionaire who takes expensive vacations and has no military background would inflict 6 shots to his body with increasing pain?

    2. What is of MUCH more interest to me is this little factoid on his LINKEDIN profile:

Contract Manager US Department of Housing and Urban Development(Link)
      February 2004 – Present

American Title acts as the closing agent for all of HUD's foreclosures in the State of Colorado. We have earned HUD's highest rating for performace and customer service in 2010 and 2011.

  2. That's very funny. So, let's imagine the thoughts and actions of your hypothetical suicide:

"I hate life and want to die. So here I am in the garage with my nail gun ready to go. After all, using car exhaust to do it is so out of fashion, and if I'm found in here with the engine running someone might think that I am, or was, truly suicidal. But first I'd better test the gun on my chest, to make sure that it has enough power to penetrate my skull."

POP POP (sound of nail gun being fired).

"Oh, that didn't hurt so bad, and now I know that the gun can do the job."

    POP POP. POP POP POP.

    POP.

  4. Anonymous @ 8:53 AM, you're comment is bizarre.Really bizarre.

Yes, nail guns take quite a bit of pressure to fire, especially at yielding soft surfaces.

You doubt the pain was "that great"? Psft, are you JW?

Your "doubt" about the pain reveals your lack of experience in this area. Come back and comment once you have completed a test.
