A Battlefield Visit and Some Selfies from the Leader of One of the Highest Taxed Countries in the World

Denmark has one of the highest tax rates in the world. But at least their prime minister puts on quite a show.

Richard Milne of FT sat down with Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Denmark’s prime minister, as part of FT's weekend series, Lunch with the FT.

Thorning-Schmidt is now known globally because of the selfie she took with President Obama at a memorial service for Nelson Mandella.


In the Lunch profile, Milne reports on the battlefield style of Thorning-Schmidt:  
On a trip to meet Danish troops in Libya shortly before becoming prime minister, Thorning-Schmidt was photographed wearing a camouflage bulletproof vest with high-heels and a bright red handbag.
