  1. Why should anyone keep an oath?

Oaths are for suckers....conflicts are the new "in"..............

Sen. Schumer won't join review of Time Warner Cable sale because of brother's role in deal

ALBANY, N.Y. — U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer said Tuesday he is recusing himself from any role Congress plays in Comcast Corp.'s planned acquisition of rival Time Warner Cable Inc. after learning his brother was one of the lead lawyers behind the $45 billion deal.

Federal regulators and lawmakers will scrutinize how the acquisition would affect competition and consumers, issues that could have come before the New York Democrat as a member of the Senate's Judiciary Committee's antitrust subcommittee.

Schumer's office said he didn't know his brother Robert represented Time Warner Cable in the talks until The American Lawyer reported Friday he was the publication's "dealmaker of the week." Robert Schumer is co-chair of the mergers and acquisitions practice at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Memo to UK's Serious Fraud Office: Your System Is Broken

The UK’s Serious Fraud Office tells us on its web site that its “overarching aims and objectives” are to reduce “fraud and corruption”; deliver “justice and the rule of law”: and maintain “confidence in the UK’s business and financial institutions.”

Given that we now know that Libor was rigged under the nose of the British Bankers Association; that the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority has acknowledged that the foreign exchange markets in the UK have been rigged just as abominably as Libor; and allegations are currently flying that Bank of England officials approved of the sharing of information between traders from competing firms in the foreign exchange market – the Serious Fraud Office has to get a failing grade in maintaining confidence in its financial institutions.

And here’s why it matters to every breathing, investing American. Every time the U.S. public launches a protest or march or hearings to rein in the abuse of the big Wall Street banks, some politician or lobbyist or editorial writer at the Wall Street Journal warns us that our too-big-to-fail banks will move to London if we don’t let them have their way with derivatives or proprietary trading or dark pools or high frequency trading or what have you. This perpetual, ill-conceived whining has set up London and New York prosecutors in a perpetual race to the bottom.
New York’s incessant Whiner-In-Chief is Senator Chuck Schumer.

  2. I can understand why they're on the Southern Poverty Law Center's watch list.

  3. I'll believe it when I see it. Especially if their families are threatened with "re-education". I recommend reading The Thought They Were Free to see how a country gradually descends into totalitarianism and how the people accept it.

  4. The oath to "uphold the Constitution" is to uphold the Supreme Court's interpretation of the document. It is not to uphold some goofy hillbilly reading of the Constitution where state's can nullify federal laws.

    1. Like such notable goofy hillbillies as Thomas Jefferson? Like the Federal Army upheld ex parte Merryman?

I know you won't respond to this, but I'm looking forward to seeing you defend your bizarre notions one on one with Robert--IF you can muster the gumption to do it.

    2. No troll.
The constitution says what it says. It says nothing about any "interpretation" by a foot stool government wing like the supreme court.
Unlike you, some Americans don't need the supreme court to read a document in the English language.

    3. So the Jerry Wolfgang of 1855 would toe the line and send slaves back to their masters and the Jerry Wolfgang of 1863 would lock up journalists for printing things the executive doesn't approve of? The rest of the Jerry Wolfgangs would also murder Native Americans, assassinate Americans, raid Amish farms for producing things such as raw milk... wow... And "hillbilly reading"? What happened to the PC, tolerant, sensitive to others liberal progressive person? And don't many liberal/progressive types mock Christians, Catholics, other religious people for allowing others to "interpret" things for them rather than thinking for themselves?

    4. That's right JW! Because the US Constitution is a "living" document, right? Meaning it is subject to frequent reinterpretation by experts based on the trends, customs and messaging of the moment. So what is the difference between that and a tyrant (or council of tyrants) who unilaterally modifies or nullifies any contract at their discretion?

From what I can tell... presentation and marketing.

    5. Jerry is only happy with it because it supports his crazy theories. If by some miracle a group of... well us lot, got on it and started striking down federal laws and all the other stuff then Jerry and friends would be queuing up to demand its 'Reform'.

  6. Nice poster but I don't trust anyone who is/was a willing gun for the state (outside of people like Adam Kokesh). They say that they dont disarm us but remember what happened to people after Katrina, government thugs went took guns away from the people of New Orleans. To me saying and doing are two different things

    1. Well, I don't trust Adam Kokesh either.
And last night I attended an Oath Keepers meeting locally, and lo and behold.....the same 'agent' who singlehandedly undermined the burgeoning Tea Party group here... herding them all off to the Republicans.

    2. You misread me, Adam Kokesh is one of the few that I respect (one can debate all day on what he did in the ironically named "freedom plaza" in DC was smart or not). I agree with Wenzel who said that the stunt wasn't a smart idea.

They can fuck off for all I care then.
