President Barack Obama is right now meeting with some of the top Silicon Valley executives. The meeting is reportedly about their complaints on the administration's handling of privacy issues and government surveillance.
The meeting was scheduled for about 4 p.m at the White House. Google Inc. Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, Netflix Inc. Chief Executive Reed Hastings, Box Chief Executive Aaron Levie and Palantir Technologies Inc. Chief Executive Alexander Karp, are at the meeting, according to White House press secretary Jay Carney said.
I do not expect Obama to shutdown the NSA after this meeting.
But I do expect the feds to have to have to pay more for access
ReplyDeleteWith regime tools Schmidt and Zuckerberg it's nearly guaranteed that nothing positive for freedom will come out of it.

As a person in the hosting and email provision business - the NSA revelations are destroying business. I may have to set up an offshore company to get future customers.
ReplyDeleteAre they negotiating over indemnity, fees and procedures for secretly sharing non-public information with government agents? What else could it possibly be?
