Samuel Adams on What It Takes

  1. Great quote from Samuel Adams which confirms that states surrendered their sovereignty when ratifying the US Constitution. They did not retain the right to unilaterally secede from the Union or to nullify federal law.

"I enter the Building I stumble at the Threshold. I meet with a National Government, instead of a Federal Union of States."

    1. If they have the right to enter a union it is because they are sovereign. It is for that same reason that they can secede and nullify.

Let me provide some context to the quote that you have provided:

"But should we continue distinct sovereign States, confederated for the Purposes of mutual Safety and Happiness, each contributing to the federal Head such a Part of its Sovereignty as would render the Government fully adequate to those Purposes and no more, the People would govern themselves more easily, the Laws of each State being well adapted to its own Genius & Circumstances, and the Liberties of the United States would be more secure than they can be, as I humbly conceive, under the proposed new Constitution.'

Pay attention to : "...to those Purposes and no more..."

Any attempt of the federal government to overstep the powers handed by the states is already a violation of the constitution.

In short, as the founding fathers said: "Up Yours Jerry the Troll !".

    2. Very lame Jerry, even for you. Go read the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions of 1798. Perhaps you've heard of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison?

    3. This is a perfect example of the perspicacity we've come to expect from you, Jerry. Thank you for the keen insight into Article VIII of the Constitution, the one in which states surrender their sovereignty unequivocally and relinquish the right to unilaterally secede from the Union.

    4. "The wife doesn't have the right to leave her abusive husband."

That's your argument Jerry. At least you can feel good about no being called a "feminist".

Professor William Black-Epic Epidemic of Fraud
Fraud expert and former regulator Professor William Black says, "Even today, we are well into 2014, and the Department of Justice record is intact. There have been zero prosecutions of the elite officers who led the epic epidemic of fraud. It was the most destructive in world history, zero of them even unsuccessfully prosecuted, much less prosecuted."

What is the result of massive rampant unprosecuted fraud? Professor Black says, "If you don't have any accountability, you not only make certain that there is going to be a next blow-up, but it will be worse. . . . We have effectively removed the criminal laws for a particular elite class of frauds."

  4. While it's optimistic to think that a few liberty-minded people can bring about a lot of change, I'm more afraid of all of the changes brought about by people who think the $15 minimum wage is a good idea. I would consider them an irate and tireless minority. Are they still a minority?
