Donald Sterling Signs Over Clippers to Wife Shelly

Just terrible news, the politically correct lynch mob appears to have beaten down Donald Sterling.

Sterling has signed the Los Angeles Clippers over to his wife Shelly, a source close to the team confirmed today to ABC News.

Shelly Sterling, who previously shared ownership of the franchise with her estranged husband, is now in talks with the NBA over selling the team, the source said.

ESPN reports that Donald has agreed to allow Shelly to negotiate the sale.

It is very dangerous to speak, in any fashion, against the politically correct groups. The thought police take no prisoners.

Contrary to the views of the libwaps, real courage, in current day America, is displayed only by those who aggressively point out that in a libertarian society, those holding anti-gay and anti-black views, though they may be goofy views, would be free to do so.

Individuals who must censor their own views, for fear of being attacked by the politically correct crowd, are living in a type of solitary confinement of the mind.

  2. My conspiracy theory (posted in the comments section here) was Shelly - tired of her husband blowing millions on some young bimbo - was making a power grab for the team. She might have had access to the tapes and could have made them available for someone to leak. Now she is in control. My theory is not yet proven, but hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

    From RadarOnline:

“There is absolutely no question, if Shelly hadn’t filed that ridiculous lawsuit against V., those racist rants Donald made never would have been made public,” an insider told Radar. “It was arrogant, ridiculous, and just bad legal judgment to even file the suit.”

“Shelly won’t be able to recover any of the property or money Donald gave V., because it was gifted to her,” the source continued. “Under California law, a spouse can’t go after a mistress or lover and recover damages. California is a no-fault divorce state.”

    And:

"Married to Los Angeles Clippers owner for 50 years, Shelly has watched him lavish millions of dollars on his girlfriend Stiviano. She wants the spending stopped and the money back, as noted in the suit she filed against the visor-clad pap magnet."

  3. “…in a libertarian society, those holding anti-gay and anti-black views, though they may be goofy views, would be free to do so.”

Individuals are free to do so today.

This is true – I am at least hearing some understanding of this in reaction to the Mark Cuban comments.

But why would we think that PC (and PC police) would disappear in a libertarian society? How does libertarian theory ensure that the anti-black individual was not censured in some manner? Humans will still be humans, after all.

In a libertarian society, it cannot be excluded that the next Donald Sterling is treated just as this one was. I don’t have to like it, but there is nothing in libertarian theory to prevent it. It would take a thickening of libertarian theory to come to this conclusion (as a libertarian), I believe.

    1. You are distorting my point. My point is not that there is no freedom to do so now, though "hate crimes" would not exist in a libertarian society and they exist now. My point is that libwaps, with their politically correct views that are "non-negotiable," distort the libertarian message. My argument is aimed at libwaps and what real courage is: It is not posturing in a politically correct manner and linking it with libertarianism.

I make no argument that politically correct views, though nuts, couldn't exist in a libertarian society.
Nowhere do I make this claim. Let me repeat. My argument is against politically correct views, but nowhere do I make the claim that they couldn't exist in a libertarian society. I am merely pointing out that it takes more courage to point out that in a libertarian society un-PC views could exist and, to extend it, that would include, the elimination of "hate crimes" discrimination laws, which do currently exist.

    2. My apologies. I should have worded my comment differently, as I know you know this.

    3. "But why would we think that PC (and PC police) would disappear in a libertarian society?"

Because then they cease to be libertarian and become dumb fuck leftists. You need a COERCIVE institution to enforce PC views and nutcase left wing academics to propagandize the idiot masses. That in my book in not libertarian. Without the endless propagandizing by the left in PUBLIC schools and what is really just a government media (Pravda) PC bullshit would NEVER have gotten off the ground.

Sigh. These pussies ALWAYS give in.

  5. So "justice" has been done and was can all pat ourselves on the back for being such a "progressive" country. Maybe now people will stop making insensitive remarks about certain groups of people in private conversation.

Meanwhile, actual destructive things like war, police abuse, drug prohibition, and economic plunder go on and few seem to care. America's foreign policy is where our true, destructive prejudice lies. It's perfectly OK to think of foreigners as less-thans and thus bomb them with flying robots.

How many black people suffer and die in a place like Somalia due to US foreign policy? Well, someone tell them Donald Sterling is giving up his NBA team. I'm sure they'll feel better.

  6. Too lazy to look this up. What capital gains rate will they pay on the sale? 15%?

If the BIG CRASH is just around the corner, isn't this a good time to sell?

  7. In their tax bracket, it would be Federal 20%, Medicare surtax, 3.8%, plus 13.3% California tax, which equal 37.1%, but the spousal transfer first, if part of a property settlement, may shield some of the gain if wife can get some sort of new basis in the property.

    Amended to read:

Real courage in current day America, is displayed by those who aggressively hold anti-homosexual and anti-black racists views contra the elite and media brainwashing that both groups are saints.

    There. That's better.
