IMF Director Lagarde Withdraws from Smith College Commencement

College students strike back at the establishment elitists, once again.

The managing director of the International Monetary Fund has withdrawn as Smith College's commencement speaker after faculty and student protests.

The women's college in Northampton, Mass., announced Christine Lagarde's withdrawal Monday. According to the college, she said it was clear that many did not want her on campus and that she did not want to distract from a joyous occasion.

An online petition with hundreds of signatures said Lagarde represents a corrupt system that fuels the oppression and abuse of women worldwide.

A little over a week ago, Condoleezza Rice cancelled her scheduled appearance at the Rutgers University commencement. (SEE: A Win for Rutgers Students: Condoleezza Rice Backs Out of Commencement Address)

  1. Fuels the oppression and abuse of women worldwide? How about the human race? But of course the female gender is the only gender that matters. I didn't picture Lagarde as an enemy of feminists though, so I suppose that's new. A split in the ranks?

  2. They only have power when we give them power. When we remove it, they crawl back into the sewer from whence they came.

See them for exactly what they are...
