Libertarianism Is Not About Eliminating Most Federal Agencies....

...or at least that's what Kennedy of The FOX show The Independents says.

Kyle Beck emails:
I came across this and got a kick out of it, thought you might too. Kennedy from "The Independents" on Fox Business is debating Santorum on the virtues of Libertarianism. She starts by attempting to define Libertarianism and says this:

Kennedy-"You have said that Libertarianism is going to cause chaos because they believe in no Govt, because they believe in cutting out most federal agencies and that's a misnomer. I mean, I would challenge you to come up with some Libertarian authors and literature that you have read that supports this position."

I guess in all her years of studying Libertarianism Kennedy somehow missed this one-

For a New Liberty: The Libertarian Manifesto

  1. What is really bizarre is she mentioned having a Rothbard tattoo a couple years ago on Twitter. It is the austrian equivalent of the clowns who get asian symbols that mean nothing what the tattoo guy tells them it does! LOL

  2. This is the trouble with the "mass movement" theory of activism. Most of these bloggers are nothing but detritus. I can't believe we have to waste time discussing some hyperventilating air-head who thinks her I-heart-Muwway sticker on her ass is one giant step for mankind.

Ms. Bimbo "Libertarianism": Like no man! We are totally KOOOOLLLLL with big government! We just want it to be like, more nice or something! Blah, blah, blah.....cough, ugh

I want to beat my head against a brick wall repeatedly after hearing these supposed "representatives" of philosophy of Liberty utter such foolishness!

    1. Who said anything about "prohibiting" fractional reserve banking?
In a free market, the banks may do as they want.
But in a free market , the taxpayers will not bail them out or be forced to use their fiat.
Although in a free market, you MAY voluntarily bail your banker out.
      .
You have a mind Wolfbait...............use it.

    2. Re: Jerry Wolfgang,
-- You'll need a federal govt agency to enforce the law prohibiting fractional reserve banking. --

Why would you need a federal government to enforce such an unnecessary law? Jerry, you're begging the question. The Market takes care of fractional reserve banking by making those banks that hold too little reserves go bankrupt. Those banks that want to avoid that problem would hold more reserves to satisfy their customers or simply NOT engage in fractional reserve banking. I don't understand why this is so difficult for you to get.

Now, it is obvious that you simply don't give a crap about intellectually-honest discussions. The fact that you keep repeating the same claptrap can only tell a person of reasonable intelligence that you only have a one-arrow-in-quiver kind of person, a character flaw that makes you boring and uninteresting.

  6. 1. I'm almost positive that tweet about a Rothbard tattoo was a joke.

    2. I always liked Kennedy's segments on Stossel, but I got about 10 minutes through an early episode of "The Independents" before shutting it off, having concluded that it was just another leftist attempt at co-opting libertarianism. Remember when The Judge had a show on Fox Business? My, how times have changed...

I caught that comment from Kennedy last Wednesday and was really surprised that she would throw such a strange challenge! She could just as well as Santorum to come up with one author that challenged the existence of ghosts. I don't know if she was making things up just to get a leg-up over the detestable Rick Santorum or she really thinks that there is no such thing as an An-Cap. Even though I like Kennedy for her quirkiness and comedic timing, the problem with her is that she's an inconsistent libertarian in the best of cases, a leftist in the worst of cases.
