Great observations from Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. He gets it and is not afraid to speak truth to the confused masses.
Cuban is known for bold statements, and he made a few Wednesday at a conference in Nashville on the topic of banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
"I know I'm prejudiced, and I know I'm bigoted in a lot of different ways," Cuban said in an interview shown at the annual GrowCo convention hosted by Inc. magazine, according to The Tennessean.
"If I see a black kid in a hoodie on my side of the street, I'll move to the other side of the street. If I see a white guy with a shaved head and tattoos (on the side he now is on), I'll move back to the other side of the street."
When asked about voting on Sterling's ouster, which he will have to do June 3, Cuban said he knows how he will vote but isn't ready to comment on it. He then was asked about keeping bigotry out of the NBA.
"You don't; there's no law against stupid," Cuban said. "I'm the one guy who says don't force the stupid people to be quiet. I want to know who the morons are."

lol...great commentary by Cuban. I really think he wants to be an Rothbardian deep down inside.
ReplyDeleteI aspire to earn enough $$ to say what I want with out fear of reprisal (eff you money). You'd think more billionaires would feel this way, but they don't (see Brothers, Koch). Cuban, here, is doing the Lord's work. His twitter back and forth with professional black writer Bomani Jones is instructive this morning if you have the chance to check it out.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else in America sick and tired of political correctness, the inability to say what they think, feeling they mush couch most any and everything they say or do anymore? I am, and apparently this basketball team owner is as well. Flush the present system as it has evolved!
ReplyDeleteHell yes I'm sick of it! Being surrounded by worthless, brain dead morons is so damned suffocating! The idiot shit turd left MUST go! It's crimes against humanity are LEGION and most people are too STUPID to see it.
DeleteThe responses I have heard to Cuban's comments are strongly disapproving - "how ignorant," they claim. "But not as bad as Sterling." Good on them, the righteous.
ReplyDeleteI commend Cuban for making such a statement in the wake of the Sterling event. It is courageous at any time, but especially now and especially for an NBA owner.
I guess being aware of your surroundings and calculating risks of various situations and options are now frowned upon.
Cuban doesn't go nearly far enough. It isn't "bigoted" to avoid people who intentionally construct their appearance to closely resemble criminals. It's common damn sense. Presumably, he *wouldn't* cross the street to avoid a black man wearing an expensive suit. That means he's not "bigoted" against blacks, he's just looking to avoid criminals.

ReplyDeleteHilarious and classic.
Why, I'd even vote for him for president - if I voted.

ReplyDeleteI'm not the least bit surprised at those little shits. They're projecting. Weak ass pussies who don't think for themselves.
