  1. What on Earth is 'brutalist" about this? It's totally true.

    1. My feelings were hurt because I am male and actually go through the trouble of calculating the tip in my head...then I just throw down whatever I have in my wallet anyway.

  2. LOL! A wonderful politically incorrect post. Such a breath of fresh air after listening to the usual brainwashed idiots all day.

  3. Ha ha, loved it.
    So true of most couples.

  4. Truth is brutal. That's why the thicks set off alarm bells whenever the reality of male/female (how binary! gasp) differences are discussed.

  5. I've waited tables, so I know that "EATING OUT" is not exactly true when it comes to the ladies' habits. It should read that when the billS come, out come the pocket calculators, for most female diners can't do even simple arithmetic in their heads to calculate the 9% tip.

Women are notorious for demanding separate checks, you see. Let's suppose that there's a four top of females. That's four checks. It's a complete pita, and since everyone knows that women are tightfisted tippers, everyone on the wait staff, even the waitresses, hopes that the chicks will be put in someone else's section.

    1. 9%? I always tip 15%. That is tight fisted.

  6. And what about those who identify as "it" Wenzel? What about them? You just alienated an entire subset of the population with your bigotry! And if it wasn't for this post, those people would have been lining up to read Rothbard!

  7. Wow…. While I agree with about 90% of this (shock alert: I did that calculation in my head all by my lonesome) you really need to be careful of stereotyping. I’ve been told many times I’m not your typical girl, I barely wear any makeup but have been told I’m the total package (and yes that does include brains). Another shock alert: I subscribe to the EPJ daily alert. Found it all by myself and pay for it all by myself so I can be informed. I guess mostly you all are just reminding me that you all are just “typical” men. Did not expect to see this type of BS here on an economic site. A bit of a disappointment.

    1. the exception that proves the rule, we getchea. stop being so sensitive & enjoy using your "total package" to get the most out of your life as you can.

remember the only useful thing that came from Dr Henry Kissinger: "there can't be a winner in the war between the sexes: there's too much fraternization with the enemy."

Your sentence says two things, if you agree with 90% of this then why do we "need to be careful"?

"I barely wear any makeup but have been told I’m the total package (and yes that does include brains). "

Does any of the above suggest women don't have brains? Not in my mind it doesn't. Most men I know want women with brains btw.

"Did not expect to see this type of BS here on an economic site."

If you agree with 90% of it, why is it BS?

So by your own admission you're the "exception to the rule". You're admitting that stereotypes like these exist for a good reason. If the post doesn't apply to you why bitch about it?

Anon, take your PC religion somewhere else.

    4. You may be the total package and the exception to the rule but you nag over inconsequential matters like 63.7138% of womankind. (I did the math in my head.)

    5. You boys sure have your panties in a wad ah? Yes stereotypes do exist for good reason, I don't remember denying that, in fact I did agree with it for the most part. I'm simply trying to point out that not ALL women are like this and ask that you don't generalize an entire group but judge on an individual basis. Apparently that's asking a lot as I am now too sensitive, politically correct and should leave. And yes part of the above does suggest women have no brains as some of this does come across as a women can't get by without a man (please direct your short attention span to the future category above). Oh, and on the natural section, don't be so sure of yourselves boys.

    6. The attack dogs are out. Men can dish out criticism real well but can't take it.

    7. I would try not to be negatively impacted by this article; it's supposed to be humor. I feel like you'll find significantly latent stereotyping in older EPJ posts. I can't blame you for being offended by responses however, you won't get a good argument in most cases and instead belligerent digressions.

I wanted to disagree with this: "and yes part of the above does suggest women have no brains as some of this does come across as a women can't get by without a man." But then I noticed there's a single explicit indication of male chauvinism in the above article. I'm attracted to women who pull their own weight so I didn't find that part funny.

    8. "You boys sure have your panties in a wad ah?"

Projection, eh? We're used to that.

" I'm simply trying to point out that not ALL women are like this"

NAWALT. Yes. We know. Chris and I just said that.

      "...and should leave."

      That's up to you.

" And yes part of the above does suggest women have no brains as some of this does come across as a women can't get by without a man"

If the description doesn't fit you then why should you care? (please direct your comprehension problems to previous posts).

    9. Flashman, it's much closer to 90%, heh.

    10. Mike,

I strongly question your lazy hedonic regression methodology. If it's a round number it cannot be scientific. (I hate when I start to sound like Krugman, but in my defence at least I can be polite.)

Yeah.....ok....I just don't see it. Maybe you've got a bogeyman in the closet and what's really going on is your projecting some of your internal concerns on to the above.

  8. "A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house"

Really? It must be coming up to Father's Day again, the articles with the zingers in them for fathers have started, the sexist sitcom version of fatherhood. Most young fathers these days are very involved in their baby's and children's lives.
