Political Parents and the Perpetual Citizen Child

Richard Ebeling emails:
Dear Bob,

I have a new article on the news and commentary website, “EpicTimes,” on "Misguided Beliefs in Political Leaders.”

This is an election year, and as in all election years a swarm of politicians are offering themselves to the voters – with the large majority of them offing “leadership” to solve the problems of the country and the individual citizens.

What needs to be not forgotten is that “leadership” on the part of politicians carries with the a required obligation to obey on the part of the citizenry, since those in political power can do nothing “for us” without the power of coercion to do things “to us.”

Our individual human choices and opportunities are narrowed to what those with political power decide for us to have and in what form. They take on the role of political parents of perpetual citizen-children permanently needing the “caring” and the controlling hand of government.

Instead, we each need to take “leadership” over our own individual lives free of political domination and manipulation, if liberty is to be restored to America.
