Unable and Unwilling - State of Emergency & Curfew
ReplyDeletePublished on Aug 16, 2014
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon declares a state of emergency and imposes a curfew in Ferguson after a week of racially charged protests over the shooting of an unarmed black teenager. The rust belt has degraded further into a militarized police state;
And he was;
Unable and Unwilling to understand the situation
unable and unwilling to walk among the people
unable and unwilling to listen to others
unable and unwilling to answer questions from the crowd
unable and unwilling to find empathy in the plight of those around him
unable and unwilling to reach the eye of those people he was chosen to represent
unable and unwilling to tell the truth in any regard
unable and unwilling to stand by the oath of office
unable and unwilling to do the righteous thing
And we are;
unable and unwilling to demand better
unable and unwilling to demand more
For this is the America to which we provide our consent
we do so with every vote cast and every dollar spent
with every discussion along party and corporate lines
are we unable and unwilling to do more
