'Cops' TV Crew Member Killed by Cops

A crew member for the TV show "Cops" died after he was shot by friendly fire while filming Omaha police responding to an armed robbery Tuesday night, reports LaTi.

Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said 38-year-old Bryce Dion was shot once during a shootout between three officers and one suspect in a Wendy's restaurant.

Police said the suspect, 32-year-old Cortez Washington, shot at officers with an airsoft pistol, which looks and sounds like a real handgun but does not fire lethal rounds. Washington was also shot and killed.

  1. Airsoft guns do not sound like real guns.

    1. Gotta agree here. My stepson had one several years ago and it in no way sounded like a real firearm.

  2. One propagandist down. The rest have second thoughts about being chummy with the thugs.

    1. It is valid to say that about "COPS", that it is propaganda, it is after all the purpose upon which the show was created and why it continues.

However, it has been on so long that if one watches the older re-runs and the newest shows, it very well documents the growing police state. Sure they show the cops in the best light possible, but that's a constant and it drops out of the equation. It's on both sides, we are comparing 'best' to 'best' in a public relations light. With 25 years of this show we have sound documented proof of how much policing has changed and in what direction.
