In Joel Salatin's book, "Everything I Want to Do Is Illegal", Salatin recalls how his son was going to build a house on the farm property. They wanted to do things legally, so they submitted the plans to some county bureaucrat for approval, and they were told the house was TOO SMALL to be legal. They protested by saying they only wanted a small house, and they were told too bad, the house had to be above a certain size!
