Divorcée Economist Deposits $974 Million Check She Originally Rejected

She took the billion.

A billion dollars is awfully tempting. This was actually a very shrewd move by the ex-husband, Harold Hamm. It is very difficult to roll the dice, when you have a check for basically a billion dollars made out to you, sitting on your desk.

Economist Sue Ann Arnall, 56, had initially refused to accept the amount and demanded more from e Hamm, who is estimated to be worth $13.5 billion.

But on Thursday, Hamm’s lawyer, Michael Burrage, said he received word from Morgan Stanley that Arnall opened an account and deposited the check.

  1. Yet another example in the "don't get married" department. Especially when they can legally steal $1 billion.

  3. Writing a check for $974 million has got to be a surreal experience, even for a billionaire.

    1. Especially when you're the victim of extortion by a shit head in a black robe who forces you to give it to someone who despises you. It's no different than if he were held up at gun point and threatened with kidnapping or murder if he refused.

The state...heh...Law and order my ass.
