HERE WE GO AGAIN Lew to Congress: Debt Limit Needs to be Raised ASAP

In letter sent this morning to House Speaker John Boehner and other House and Senate leaders, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said that his office will be forced to suspend the issuance of State and Local Government Series securities on Mar. 13 unless the debt limit is increased.

"Accordingly, I respectfully ask Congress to raise the debt limit as soon as possible," Lew wrote in his letter.

  1. Raise the debt or babies will have to be sacrificed.

  2. Hello Mastercard,
If you do not increase my credit card limit, I will not be able to pay my home and car payments! Quickly please.

  3. The wimpy Republicans will do as instructed, but not before making total asses out of themselves.

On a side not, I just got an invite to a Town Hall from Ted Deutch. According to this math challenged pandering Democrat, Social Security works (true if you ignore the Government's own actuarial science that says otherwise), and its time to expand it to solve the retirement crisis (created also by the government). I bet, without going to the meeting, I know how he intends to convince a room full of rent seeking people that the US can expand social security and make someone else pay for it. He'll propose removing the cap, thus turning Social Security into a full blown welfare scheme, instead of it being a quasi pension.

  4. Why can't Obama just do it? He has a pen. He wants to raise taxes with his pen.

  5. No Jack, You are mistaken. The government and its useless self-feeding lumbering "services" need to be put on a starvation diet. I have wasted 3 hours of my life trying to reach post offices that cannot answer the phone, have the phone line set to fax, and the wait time in 24 minutes as my battery died after 33 minutes. oh, if only the health delivery service will be as high-quality. Afterall, CENTRAL PLANNING solves everything.

  6. What gubment "services" do the slobbish masses hold most sacred? National parks. Grandma's SS check. [insert token program du jour here.] Shut those things down first, issue some scaremongering press releases, make some oblique reference to terrorism, and VOILA!!! Debt ceiling raised. Continue ad infinitem.
