Goodbye, Bank Minimum Wage Jobs

As I reported earlier, EconomicPolicyJournal.com has obtained a series of slides that were presented at a California bankers'  conference that is being held in San Francisco at the Palace Hotel.

Probably the most fascinating slide was one in which trends were discussed for bank branches of the future,

According to the slide, JPMorgan expects banks to have 40% fewer employees, to be replaced by automation.

Specifically identified were low paying teller jobs. JPMorgan expects tellers to be replace by self-service kiosks.

Banks will also be. according to JPMorgan,  20% to 45% smaller in size.

  1. In terms of customer service, they will go the way of telecom in that dealing with them will be like dealing with some government agency- a pain in the neck.
