Bankruptcy at a national level has been around since 1250 when King Henry III was driven to insolvency by Florentine bankers with interest rates of around 120 percent; but King Edward I, King Edward III, and numerous other leaders have learned nothing in the intervening 765 years. Andrea Merkel has her own debt crisis staring her in the face, so she should stifle herself.
