The "progressives" are getting more insane year after year. In the late 70s, they might have supported reasonable policies or analysis here and there. No more. Recall that Gabriel Kolko was a socialist who showed that the Robber Barons opposed laissez faire. The "progressives" now deny the existence of all laws of economics and proudly proclaiming themselves economics deniers while denying history and even the difference between crony capitalism and laissez faire. It's all quite amazing.
I've come to the conclusion that Krugrman is an intellectual clown. His purpose is to entertain.
ReplyDeleteActually it seems like as with so many other things, Krugman was better in the 90's.
DeleteSo what has changed in the Krugman of '98 to the Krugman of '15? Did he succumb to peer-pressure and the need/desire to fit in with the cool kids?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it was retirement planning.

ReplyDeleteHow can I get a high paying job where I can spout off all sorts of jiberish and have everyone fall at my feet like I am a deity?
