Goldman Sachs Scores Again: Dallas Fed Picks Former Goldman Banker as New President

The Dallas Federal Reserve has appointed former Goldman Sachs executive Robert Steven Kaplan as its next president.

Kaplan spent 16 years as a partner at Goldman Sachs and oversaw its global investment banking and management practices until he left in 2006. He has been teaching as a professor at the Harvard Business School and currently serves on a number of corporate boards including those of State Street Corporation and the Harvard Management Company, which manages the university’s endowment. The Dallas Fed said he would step down from these positions before assuming his new job.
