Trump Wants to "Put H&R Block Out of Business"

Donald Trump appeared on MSBNC’s “Morning Joe”  this morning and said that one of his first targets would be the complex tax code so Americans could fill out their returns without paid help.

“I want to put H&R Block out of business,” Trump said. “It would be a dream of mine …They don’t deserve to be in business, frankly.”

Now, Trump is sounding like a regular politician, even Rand Paulish. I don't want a president who wants to "simplify" tax forms. I want one who wants to cut taxes and then cut more taxes.

He went on to make another Rand Paul point, He said he wants to give incentives to businesses to move to inner cities like Baltimore and others “that are blowing up.” In other wordfs, he's a typical micro-manager, who thinks he can centrally plan the economy,

Trump also reiterated his warmonger stance. He said he’s not afraid to send troops to the Middle East to fight ISIS terrorists.

“We have to take them out and we have to take them out strongly,” he said. “Every place where they have oil I would knock the hell out of them. I would put boots on the ground in those areas. I would take the oil.”

  1. I am 60 years old and am a Tax CPA. it so depressing, to me. The one thing I'm good at is a worthless profession .... although, my clients cling to me, year after year. They are terrified of the IRS and they perceive that I stand between them and the IRS.

I would love to be "put out of business." But Trump is just blowing Hot Air.

But then, Bombastic Statements like that appeal to the low information voter.

    1. At this point i might actually support Bernie Sanders. He is ignoranat on so many levels, but BLM proved he has no backbone, so everything he wants to do is, as you say, hot air. Trump, to me, seems like the kind of guy who would definitely steam roll the constitution and just do what he wants out of fiat much like Obama has done, except he seems more brazen than Obama. He's the Road to Serfdom candidate.

    3. Your profession is not worthless; you provide the means for people to keep more of what they earn.

    4. I'm with you, Leia. I'm one of those undeserving HRB franchisees who works her tail off to ensure that my clients pay no more in tax then they legally have to. Put me out of business, ok with me, I'll find something else to do. But until then, I'll be on the front line fighting for my clients against the IRS.

Apparently, some accountants and tax preparers were paid by the gov't to promote Obamacare enrollment and scaremonger about the tax penalties for not enrolling. Just curious if you participated in or heard anything about such programs.

  2. Why doesn't he talk about putting the IRS out of business?

  3. Apparently this is his tax plan:

Up to $30,000, you pay 1%
    From $30,000 to $100,000, you pay 5%
From $100,000 to $1 million, you pay 10%
On $1 million or above, you pay 15%
