Overall foreign holdings of U.S. Treasuries fall $145 billion in October as China Japan and Russia cut holdings.Since the financial crisis the Turkish lira has been falling against the US dollar, now it appears that even aggressive selling of US Treasury securities is not enough to stop the downward pressure on the lira.
Turkey cuts US. Treasury Bond holdings by 10% in October; 25% since January.
China remains the largest holder of U.S. Treasuries. China shed $3.2 billion in U.S. Treasuries in October, while Japan shed $27.9 billion. The grand total of foreign holdings of US Treasuries fell $145 billion from $6.191.7 trillion in September to $6046.3 trillion in October.
Overall foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury Bonds fell $145.4 billion in October 2015 from September.
