NYT: Breathing Oxygen May Cause Cancer

Contemplating this New York Times headline this morning:

From the story:
In examining the possibility that breathing itself significantly increases the risk of lung cancer, the authors of the paper, Kamen P. Simeonov and Daniel S. Himmelstein, began by eliminating confounding variables...

But in the end, NYT seems hesitant about the new discovery:

That is not a good reason to inhale less deeply at sea level or to flee to the mountains...

  3. This is the ultimate "_____ causes cancer" story. I didn't think "bacon causes cancer" could be topped, by the NYT no less...
