Chase has been requiring identification to deposit cash for quite a while...at least 6 months to a year. When I asked about the ridiculousness of this, I was told that it was to prevent money laundering. When I asked if they were having problems with people depositing cash into other people's accounts, I got a blank stare.
Chase also changed the conditions on their box lease leases last year to forbid storing cash or precious metals, including coins, in their safety deposit boxes...
Wasn't it Chase that, a year and a half or so ago, changed their policies on wire transfers as well to either limit or eliminate them?
