Today, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and Deputy Secretary Sarah BloomRaskin are in Sendai, Japan for a meeting of the G-7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors.
While in Japan, according to The Treasury, the Secretary and the Deputy Secretary will meet with international counterparts "to discuss measures to promote global stability and growth, "as well as cybersecurity and resiliency in the financial services sector.
In the afternoon, Secretary Lew will conduct bilateral meetings with Bank of England Governor Mark Carney and French Finance Minister Michel Sapin.
In the evening, the Secretary will attend the G-7 Welcome Reception.
On Saturday, May 21, 2016, Secretary Lew will host a press briefing at the conclusion of the G-7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting.
Expect foreign exchange rate manipulation to be high on the agenda as a topic of discussion. These characters can never leave free markets to operate.
