Hedge Fund Exec Charged With Insider Trading Found Dead

For the record.

Hedge fund manager Sanjay Valvani, who was charged with insider trading of drug stocks last week, has been found dead.

Valvani, 44, the portfolio manager at Visium Asset Management, turned himself into authorities last week after he was accused of a $32 million in insider trading profits based on information from the Food and Drug Administration on generic drugs that were about to get approved.

His wife called 911 Monday evening after she found him on their bedroom floor in their Brooklyn apartment with a stab wound to the neck, law enforcement sources said.

Police recovered a knife next to his body as well as a suicide note, according to NyPo.

Valvani’s lawyer Barry Berke said it was “difficult to comprehend” the “horrible tragedy.”

  2. Sounds a bit like "committed suicide by throwing a knife in his back from across the room."
