"I think that Social Security is absolutely fixable," @GovGaryJohnson tells @JudyWoodruff #PBSnews https://t.co/W92GzipRIw— PBS NewsHour (@NewsHour) June 6, 2016
Social Security is a government run, militant Ponzi scheme. It shouldn't be fixed. It should be ended.

he isn't a complete bonehead
ReplyDeletehttp://thehill.com/regulation/282381-libertarian-gary-johnson-id-eliminate-nsa-irs-if-elected
but eliminating IRS probably means the VAT
OK, but where were the criticisms from EPJ for Ron Paul's band-aid 'fix' for Social Security where only those 25 and under (not me) could opt out?
ReplyDeleteIn any case, Gary Johnson needs to be harder on Social Security - by 2025 (being optimistic), government revenue will be consumed entirely by 3 things: Social Security, Medicare, and interest on the national debt
Gary Johnson said he'd eliminate IRS, NSA, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Commerce. Do you plan on calling the balls and strikes or just balls?

ReplyDeleteNobody advocating for eliminating SS has been voted into office. You must first pass the first hurdle of convincing people to vote for you and then you can tackle these issues. Even Ron Paul understood this. Of course, the 'nice to have' is a candidate who will tell it like it is, but telling retirees and those about to retire that what they've been paying into doesn't exist any more is the surest way of being thrown out amidst a barrage of putrid cabbages and over-ripen tomatoes.
So true. They "paid in so they disserve it". Only they never paid it to me, but they feel they have a right to collect from me. Kind of like the "I bought the slave so he owes me work" reasoning.
