Janet Yellen Money Continues to Flow: Uber Stepping Up to the Plate in Oakland

Jack Cookson of Buildzoom emails:
HI Robert,

This morning I was alerted to an $8 million building permit for structural upgrades to 1955 Broadway. The permit was filed with the Oakland building department yesterday (Aug. 30th). Other than a $500K warm shell permit filed in March, this is the first indication of large scale tenant improvements to Uber's Upwork Station office.

You can see all permits for the project and track the progress on our 1955 Broadway page.

Hope you find this interesting and, of course, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Jack

Sears operated out of 1955 Broadway until late 2014.

Uber has bought the building and plans an international food court on the street level with Uber offices on the upper levels once the building renovation is completed.
